Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Blueglass app for iPhone, iPad and Mac (“the app”) and this website. Blueglass is made by Boyce Software Design, LLC (“we” below). By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

Blueglass is an independent app for the AT Protocol network. It isn’t made by or affiliated with Bluesky Social, PBC, and “Bluesky” is their trademark.

The app license

The app is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard License Agreement for Licensed Applications, which covers what you may do with the app, warranty, liability, export rules and governing law. These terms add to it. If they conflict, Apple’s agreement controls.

Blueglass is based on the open-source social-app project, used under the MIT License, and includes other open-source components under their own licenses, which take precedence for that code. Blueglass’s name, icon and design are ours.

Who can use Blueglass

You must be at least 13, old enough to have an account with your provider, and meet any minimum age where you live.

Your account

Blueglass doesn’t host accounts. You sign in with an account from a provider on the network (your PDS), and that account, your posts and everything you do on the network are governed by your provider’s terms and the network services’ policies. For accounts hosted by Bluesky, those are Bluesky’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. You agree to follow them when you use the app.

You’re responsible for what you post and do through the app, and for keeping your device and account secure.

Your content and others’

Your posts and content are yours. We claim no rights to them: the app only sends what you create to your account provider and the network.

Posts, feeds, labels and links in the app come from other people and services. We don’t host, review or endorse them. To report content, use the report options in the app, which go to the network’s moderation services. To report copyright infringement, contact the service that hosts the content; for most accounts that’s Bluesky’s copyright process.

Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully and within the rules of the services you reach through it. Don’t use Blueglass to harass, spam or harm others, to get around moderation or other people’s blocks, to overload or attack the network’s services, or to interfere with the app itself.

Beta builds

Pre-release builds, including TestFlight builds, may be unfinished, may change or stop working, and may lose settings stored on your device. TestFlight use is also covered by Apple’s TestFlight terms.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains what the app sends where, including the usage data you can turn off in Settings.

Changes, availability and ending

We may change, suspend or stop offering the app or any feature at any time. If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to use the app means you accept it.

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. If you break these terms, your right to use the app ends.

No warranty and limited liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t control the network or the content on it, and don’t guarantee the app will be accurate, uninterrupted or error free.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content or profits, arising from your use of the app or the network, and our total liability to you is limited to $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

The rest

If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, the Privacy Policy and Apple’s license agreement are the whole agreement between you and us about the app.
